The role holder will provide hands on support to the Talent Acquisition Specialist during a busy period of recruitment activity. The role will manage a portfolio of operational vacancies through the full 360 recruitment process, from vacancy briefing and attraction through to screening, interview coordination, offer and onboarding. Working at pace across multiple sites and job families, the role holder will keep candidates and hiring managers updated, maintain accurate records and help reduce reliance on recruitment agencies wherever possible.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Take vacancy briefs from hiring managers, understanding role requirements, timescales and candidate profiles.
  • Write and advertise vacancies across relevant recruitment channels.
  • Source candidates through job boards, CV databases, referrals and local recruitment networks.
  • Screen applications and conduct telephone interviews to assess suitability, availability, salary expectations and right to work.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring and hard to fill roles, including Drivers, Engineers and Breakdown Controllers.
  • Present shortlisted candidates to hiring managers with clear recommendations and screening notes.
  • Coordinate interviews, assessments and recruitment activity, ensuring all parties are kept informed throughout the process.
  • Manage candidate communication from application through to offer, delivering a positive candidate experience.
  • Support offer management, pre-employment checks, onboarding activities and handover to the HR team.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment records, vacancies and candidate data within the HRIS (UKG) and recruitment trackers.
  • Engage with approved recruitment agencies in line with business processes and agreed terms.
  • Use direct sourcing methods wherever possible to reduce agency spend and improve recruitment outcomes.
  • Prioritise urgent vacancies while effectively managing multiple roles across sites and departments.
  • Ensure recruitment activity is carried out in line with Company policies, data protection requirements and current legislation.
  • Work closely with the Talent Acquisition Specialist and wider HR team to manage priorities, workload and vacancy ownership.
  • Provide flexible support across the recruitment function as business needs evolve.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience managing a full 360 recruitment process, either in-house or within a fast paced recruitment agency.
  • Experience recruiting operational, engineering, transport, logistics or high-volume roles would be advantageous.
  • Confident sourcing and screening candidates directly rather than relying solely on applications or agencies.
  • Able to manage multiple live vacancies and changing priorities without losing attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with candidates and hiring managers at all levels.
  • Proactive, organised and comfortable working at pace with minimal supervision.
  • Good judgement when assessing candidate suitability and escalating recruitment risks or issues.
  • Experience using an applicant tracking system or recruitment platform; experience of UKG would be advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and online sourcing tools such as Indeed.
