Job summary

Pact is recruiting a Recruitment Officer to join our HR team in England. You will manage end-to-end recruitment campaigns, post vacancies, coordinate pre-employment checks and prepare new starters for their first day, while collaborating with external consultants to widen the candidate pool.

Join a values-driven charity supporting prisoners’ children and families; you will handle onboarding, maintain GDPR-compliant records, and help us deliver inclusive recruitment strategies.

Qualifications

• Experience of administration in recruitment or HR environments.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple campaigns.
• Experience using an applicant tracking system or HRIS.
• Knowledge of safer recruitment practices and UK GDPR.
• Clear, professional communication and customer service skills.
• Commitment to Pact's values and empathy with prisoners' families.

Responsibilities

• Post vacancies on our ATS and job boards and update hiring managers on applications.
• Help develop recruitment strategies, employer branding and outreach to diverse groups.
• Produce routine recruitment data and reports.
• Review references, right to work checks and DBS; sign off pre-employment checks.
• Ensure payroll readiness for new starters and support onboarding.
• Maintain recruitment records securely in line with GDPR.
• Be a first point of contact for candidates and provide a positive experience.
