Job summary

STR Group is expanding Insignis Talent to spearhead the US Power & Energy market from Portsmouth. You will own the new desk, build high-value client relationships, and drive growth with strong leadership and entrepreneurial drive.

The role offers £40,000–£55,000 base with uncapped commission up to 30%, plus a hybrid working pattern after the Training Academy and a clear pathway to relocating to the USA as the market scales.

Qualifications

• Proven success in permanent or contract recruitment with a track record of personal billing and business development.
• Experience recruiting in Engineering, Manufacturing, Power & Energy, Oil & Gas or Data Centres is valued.
• Experience in leadership roles or progression into people management is desirable.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with drive to develop a new specialist market in the US Power & Energy sector.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a growing US Power & Energy market desk and build it from the ground up.
• Develop high-value client relationships and win new business opportunities.
• Lead from the front, growing your desk while mentoring the early stages of a team as the division expands.
• Support relocation pathway to the USA as the market and business grow.

What are we looking for?

• Proven success in permanent or contract recruitment, with a strong track record of personal billing and business development. Experience recruiting within Engineering, Manufacturing, Power & Energy, Oil & Gas or Data Centres would all be considered.
• Experience within recruitment, whether you're an established manager, an experienced Team Leader or a successful recruiter ready to take the next step into leadership.
• An entrepreneurial mindset, with the drive and ambition to develop a new specialist market within the US Power & Energy sector.
• The ability to lead from the front, building and developing your own desk while supporting the growth of a team as the division expands.
• A track record of winning new business, building strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for growth.
• Strong commercial awareness, with an understanding of revenue targets, market development and business growth.
• A proactive, motivated and adaptable approach, with the confidence to take ownership and make a real impact.
