Job summary

Government Recruitment Service in Pontefract is seeking a proactive Recruitment Consultant to connect employers with talented jobseekers and support local workforce development. You will act as the link between employers, jobseekers and partners, building networks to create meaningful employment opportunities across Pontefract and surrounding areas.

In this role you will engage directly with employers, share up-to-date labour market insight, and promote DWP recruitment services to help people

Responsibilities

• Build strong, practical and trusted relationships with employers to generate new opportunities for our customers.
• Identify recruitment opportunities and influence businesses to recruit through DWP service.
• Explain the full DWP offer to employers, including Work Experience, Youth Guarantee, Disability Confident, Access to Work, SWAPs, Work Trials and Universal Credit flexibilities.
• Gather and analyse employer and customer insight to review and inform future activity.
• Build understanding of customer groups and growth sectors, and monitor local developments including large-scale recruitment or redundancies.
• Collaborate with local partners to support skills development and match future demand.
• Share up-to-date employer insight so work coaches can match customers to roles.
• Maximise recruitment opportunities by engaging employers to recruit through DWP services.
• Attend visits, presentations and recruitment events to understand workforce needs.
