Job summary

Government Recruitment Service in Huddersfield is seeking a Recruitment Consultant to work with employers across West Yorkshire District, helping businesses access talented individuals and create meaningful employment opportunities for our customers.

The role acts as a link between employers, jobseekers and partners, building relationships to understand workforce needs and develop practical recruitment solutions, supporting people moving into, staying in, and progressing in work.

Responsibilities

• Build strong, practical and trusted relationships with employers to generate new opportunities for our customers.
• Encourage employers to engage directly with Jobcentres through visits, talks and recruitment events.
• Identify recruitment opportunities and influence businesses to recruit through DWP service.
• Explain the full DWP offer to employers, including Work Experience, Youth Guarantee, Disability Confident, Access to Work, SWAPs, Work Trials and Universal Credit flexibilities.
• Gather and analyse employer and customer insight to inform future activity.
• Understand customer groups, key industries, and growth sectors, including local developments and large-scale recruitment or redundancies.
• Collaborate with local partners, training providers and community organisations to support skills development to match future demand.
• Share up-to-date employer insight so work coaches can match customers to roles.
• Generate recruitment opportunities by influencing businesses to recruit through DWP services.
• Build strong relationships with employers through visits, presentations and recruitment events to understand workforce needs.
