Job summary

Mirai Talent is seeking a founding Billing Manager in Manchester to lead a small team while continuing to bill in the Data & AI market. You will shape hiring, training and ways of working as the business scales, with a direct path to Director.

You will drive both personal billings and the team’s performance, building our community and client partnerships in a growing boutique data talent consultancy.

Qualifications

• Proven 360 agency recruitment experience within Tech/Data/AI.
• Experience leading a small team and scaling when needed.
• Consistent biller who also mentors and develops others.
• Creative thinker with ideas on refreshing recruitment approaches.
• Experience running recruitment events or speaking on panels is a plus.
• Strong passion for people and the Data & AI community.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a small consultants team, with growth plans.
• Continue billing and grow your own Data & AI market across perm and contract.
• Set standards for business development, client partnerships and candidate delivery.
• Drive individual and team performance against targets.
• Help shape hiring, training, culture and ways of working at Mirai.
• Represent Mirai as a thought leader through events, content and podcast appearances.
• Spot new markets and convert opportunities into long-term growth.

As part of the leadership team, you'll help shape both, from hosting events to bringing new voices onto the podcast.

The Role

This is Mirai's first Billing Manager role, a founding leadership position with a clear pathway to Director.

You'll start by managing a small team, coaching and developing consultants while staying hands-on and billing in a Data & AI market you know inside out. As Mirai grows, you'll scale that team, shape how we hire, train and work, and grow into a Director role as the business grows.

You'll be targeted on both your individual billings and your team's performance, so this role suits someone who leads from the front and gets as much from their team's wins as their own.

What we're looking for

• Proven 360 agency recruitment experience, ideally within Tech, Data or AI, with a strong market and network behind you
• Experience leading a small team, and ideally scaling one
• A consistent biller who still loves being hands-on
• A creative thought leader with fresh ideas on how recruitment can be done better
• Experience running recruitment or community events, or speaking on panels, is a big plus
• Super passionate about people, the Data & AI community and building something brilliant
