Job Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Turning Point Complex Needs Team as a Recovery Worker. This role involves supporting service users in Hertfordshire who face mental health, substance misuse, and other complex social issues. You will provide vital advice, information, signposting, and practical support to promote wellbeing and recovery.

At Turning Point, we support individuals across England with mental health challenges. As a Recovery Worker, you'll make a significant difference by helping them access personalized, flexible support to improve their quality of life in their communities. We value passionate people who enjoy engaging with individuals in need and seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.

About the Service

The Hertfordshire Complex Needs Service offers short-term, holistic community support to adults recovering from mental health issues and dealing with additional complex needs such as substance misuse and housing issues. We visit clients in their homes or meet at community locations, designing support plans that adapt to their evolving needs and goals.

Our support aims to reduce isolation, increase independence, teach new skills, and facilitate community integration, regardless of previous support service experiences.

Working Hours and Requirements

The service operates on a rota basis: 8-4, 9-5, or 10-6. Having a valid driving license and access to a vehicle is essential.

Role Responsibilities
  • Develop flexible, person-centered support packages in collaboration with service users.
  • Maintain effective communication with external professionals such as GPs and Social Services.
  • Keep accurate records and contribute to service monitoring.
  • Conduct clinical risk and needs assessments and develop risk management plans.
  • Assist in developing and implementing service policies and procedures.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
  • Proven experience in a similar role or relevant degree.
  • Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle.
  • Flexibility, patience, and non-judgmental attitude.
  • Good IT and communication skills.
Desirable
  • Level 3 NVQ in social care.
  • Additional relevant degrees or qualifications.
  • Understanding of mental health and complex needs impact on wellbeing.
