We have an exciting opportunity for a Recovery Worker who has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs.

The role will involve working with the High Intensity Team to support service users who present with complex needs.

Hours and Salary

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week with occasional evening clinics (you will receive time in lieu)

Full Time Salary Range: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 (based on full-time hours, pro-rata for part-time)

Contract

Fixed Term contract until 31st March 2026.

About the role
  • Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey
  • Providing screening, assessment, recovery planning, and onward referral
  • Reducing drug and alcohol-related harm to service users and the wider community
  • Promoting carer, service user, and community involvement
  • Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
  • Supporting social (re)integration, enabling meaningful and purposeful lives, promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination
  • Researching, designing, and preparing subject matter and materials for groups/pods
  • Delivering structured content within group settings at various stages of recovery
  • Engaging in debriefing and evaluations with co-facilitators, reviewing progress and concerns with service users
  • Tailoring workshops around specific needs such as anger management, sleep disorders, relationships, etc.
About you
  • Strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience in a similar field
  • Experience managing groups/pods and group dynamics, including conflict or challenging behavior
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with good IT skills
  • Proactive with the ability to work independently, with excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practices
  • Supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in partnership with professionals, agencies, and stakeholders
  • Ability to manage change effectively, prioritizing service user needs
  • Understanding of information governance and commitment to safeguards
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to the professional development of others
