Description du poste

Do you want to make a difference to our clients’ lives every day?

About the role

We are looking for a Recovery Worker to join our excellent team in Hounslow. The Hounslow LIFE service is a large multi-site service that has a staff team of 32 supporting 86 clients, who have experienced homelessness, as well as a range of other support needs.

In the role of Recovery Support Worker, you will be working with our clients on their road to recovery, aiding clients to gain the necessary skills to move on from our services and into suitable accommodation. You will assist a caseload of clients, supporting them to maintain independence in the community, build on their skills for employment, manage their own health needs, and look towards a brighter future. You will also have some housing management responsibilities as part of ensuring we deliver safe, high quality services.

We are recruiting for a role at Forbes House based in Chiswick/Kew Bridge, one of our higher support sites and home to 22 residents, staffed 24/7 between a team of five recovery workers and two night staff. Please note, due to the needs of all our services, there is a requirement to work a shift rota, so flexibility is required. This will include some weekends and bank holidays, and the role will be service based with no home working.

In this role you will:

  • Contribute towards the day to day running of the service, overseeing the safety and security of the building and those within it. This will include general administrative duties, ensuring health & safety compliance, liaising with any visitors or contractors, conducting building, locality and wellbeing checks and tending to any support required by individual clients.
  • Personally oversee a caseload of approximately 5 clients. You will be responsible for building positive relationships, collaboratively working on meaningful action and support plans, regularly conducting key-working sessions in order to support individuals in maintaining a positive sense of wellbeing, identify meaningful actions and work towards building their confidence and independent living skills with the ultimate aim of identifying positive future moves to longer term accommodation.
  • Work with a range of in-reach and external professionals, contributing to positive relationships with other stakeholders with the aim of further service development, positive joint working and meaningful outcomes for our clients.

For this role staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm and 8am Monday to Friday, and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.

About you

To succeed in this highly rewarding role you would benefit if you:

  • Have an understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people – you may have had personal experience of homelessness yourself.
  • Have experience of helping vulnerable people to identify personal goals and supporting them through a process of change.
  • Have a sound understanding of the support needs of people with low incomes, including rent payments/arrears and professional boundary issues.
  • Be committed to our Recovery Ethos.

However, above all we are looking for inspirational, committed individuals who have a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives.

St Mungo's are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. We strongly encourage applications from all under-represented groups.

Closing date*: 29 October 2026
Interview and assessments: TBC
Please note:

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have existing and ongoing right to work in the UK for the duration of employment.

Successful candidates will be required to provide evidence of their right to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006.

A DBS disclosure check is a requirement for this post and will be undertaken for the successful candidate.

Please be advised that all appointments will be made on St Mungo’s current standard Terms and Conditions (T&Cs); this also applies to any internal candidates.
