Job summary

Clouds House within Forward Trust is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist clients in a therapeutic residential setting. You will support routines, activities and the recovery programme in a structured, safe environment.

This hands-on role requires compassion, strong communication and safeguarding awareness, with experience in addiction or mental health services and a full UK driving licence. Training and development opportunities are offered in a collaborative, one-team model.

Qualifications

• Experience in health, social care, recovery or residential settings.
• Strong communication and people skills.
• Emotional resilience with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• A professional, boundaried and compassionate approach.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Understanding of safeguarding principles.
• Commitment to recovery-focused and trauma-informed practice.
• Experience in addiction or mental health services.
• Knowledge of 12‑Step recovery models.
• Experience managing challenging behaviour.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Supporting clients to engage in daily routines, wellbeing activities and the therapeutic programme.
• Promoting structure, communal responsibilities and positive recovery habits.
• Maintaining a safe, respectful and supportive living environment.
• Monitoring welfare, safeguarding and behavioural concerns, escalating where needed.
• Supporting medication processes (including eMAR where trained).
• Completing accurate, up-to-date records and handovers.
• Responding calmly and professionally to incidents or client needs.
• Working closely with colleagues across all departments as part of one team.
