Job summary

Waythrough, a leading UK mental health and social support charity, is seeking a Support Worker in Newton Abbot (South Devon). You will provide recovery-focused support to people with substance use issues, deliver interventions, and work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.

The role includes group work, 1:1 meetings, and collaboration with partner agencies. The position offers full-time hours, a fixed-term contract, and salary between £25,877.80 and £30,868.31 per year,

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of substance misuse and recovery.
• Experience in planning and prioritising own workload to deliver high standards.
• Understanding of safeguarding.
• Understanding of group work, dynamics and facilitation.
• Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.
• Ability to work well in a team with diverse people/organisations.
• Basic IT skills and proficiency with Microsoft Teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
• Holding a full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload autonomously and deliver psychosocial interventions.
• Undertake ongoing assessments, risk assessments and referrals within the community in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Facilitate group sessions with participants of diverse backgrounds.
• Collaborate with partnership agencies to ensure continuity of care and support.
