Job summary

CNTW NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Peer Supporter for the North Tyneside Recovery Partnership within the North Locality. The role focuses on supporting service users through recovery journeys and building resilience, drawing on personal lived experience in addictions and/or mental health.

Role requires personal lived experience or caring for someone with addictions or mental health.
Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively, build trusting relationships and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Develop a therapeutic relationship with service users identified through screening tools; establish a clear point of contact and joint appointments with key worker.
Initiate contact to inform service users of planned appointments and arrange attendance support.
Provide support on the day of appointment.
Support follow-up, referrals and additional appointments as needed.
Work as part of the MDT.
Support physical health pathway with phlebotomy training and ECGs.
Obtain feedback from service users and contribute to service improvement (Your Voice).
Record progress and concerns, maintaining confidentiality and security.
Set up service user forums to promote service improvement and external health-related groups.
