Job summary

Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust in Blyth is recruiting a Part-time Peer Supporter to join the HOPE team. The role focuses on supporting adults with trauma- and emotion-management challenges, using lived experience to aid recovery and wellbeing.

The post requires direct service user contact, group work, and individualised advice. Flexible hours may include evenings, with strong emphasis on safeguarding, professional boundaries, and transport across the region.

Qualifications

  • Must have good level of secondary education.
  • Commitment to complete CNTW Peer Supporter Educational Programme.
  • Completion of Peer Support Specialist Training or similar.
  • Completion of WRAP training and WRAP Educator training.

Responsibilities

  • Use your lived experience thoughtfully, sharing relevant stories to create shared understanding between carers.
  • Co-facilitate and develop therapeutic groups for service users and create a safe space for sharing experiences.
  • Work 1:1 with service users to offer direct individualised support and advice.
  • Manage and prioritise your workload independently.
