Job summary

Wight Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Peer Support Worker to join our Community Mental Health Team. This role uses your lived experience to support others on their recovery journey, building hope, confidence and resilience.

You will work alongside clinicians and other professionals to help service users access community resources and achieve their goals in a recovery-focused, person-centred environment.

Qualifications

• Must have lived experience of mental health difficulties and recovery.
• Ability to use experiences safely and positively to support others.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Passion for recovery-focused and person-centred care.
• Enjoy working with people and helping them achieve goals.

Responsibilities

• Build positive and trusting relationships with service users.
• Provide emotional and practical support through shared lived experience.
• Encourage recovery, independence, and wellbeing.
• Help people access community resources, groups, and activities.
