Job summary

Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Activity Co-ordinator (Band 3) for part-time work three days per week in Rochdale. The role centres on creating a recovery-focused activities programme for patients, tailored to individual interests and needs, with input from the multidisciplinary team.

The post requires flexibility, organisational skills and the ability to build therapeutic relationships with patients, supporting social interaction, wellbeing and independence.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and deliver a varied programme of social, recreational and wellbeing activities for patients.
• Develop activities on both an individual and group basis, considering patients' interests and goals.
• Work with Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Healthcare Assistants to support rehabilitation.
• Encourage patient participation in meaningful activity to promote wellbeing and independence.
• Provide activity-based interventions for patients with cognitive impairment or additional needs.
• Engage with patients to maximise recovery opportunities.
• Build and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients, families and carers.
• Record participation and communicate relevant information to the clinical team.
• Work flexibly with the ward team to ensure activity engagement outside of standard hours.
