The Role:
We’re building something new — and we’re looking for someone who wants to be at the centre of it.
The Met’s Digital, Data and Technology team is expanding its Records Management capability. With one Records Manager already in post, we’re now bringing in another experienced professional to head up a new team. You’ll be leading a small group of around five Junior Data Managers, focusing either on engagement or analytical work, depending on your strengths.
It’s not just about organising files — this is about influencing how the Met manages data across its lifecycle: when we keep it, when we dispose of it, and how we do that ethically, legally and efficiently. You’ll apply the NRAC, guide teams through Review, Retention and Disposal (RRD) processes, and support our move towards becoming a more data-driven organisation.
You’ll get involved in audits, develop retention schedules, respond to FOIs, and play a key role in shaping policy and practice. It’s a brilliant time to join — we’ve got the right backing, a clear vision, and a lot of work that really matters.
