Job description

Job Title: Receptionist / Ward Clerk - Perinatal Services

We are seeking a Receptionist / Ward Clerk within Perinatal Services at New Cross Hospital to cover various locations within the unit, including Maternity and Neonates.

Working Hours:
  1. 18 hours per week
  2. Tuesday 16:00 - 22:00
  3. Wednesday 16:00 - 22:00
  4. Thursday 16:00 - 22:00
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform clerical, reception, and appointment duties related to administration within Women and Neonatal services.
  • Work in outpatient and ward reception areas, including clinic preparation, appointment booking, updating PAS demographics, filing, scanning, and ward transactions such as admissions and discharges.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Demonstrate initiative in organizing workloads and making decisions within defined limits.
  • Be flexible to cover in the absence of colleagues across all locations within Perinatal Services.
Required Skills and Attributes:
  • Excellent communication skills, both face-to-face and over the telephone.
  • Proficient in keyboard use for data entry.
  • Mature outlook when handling sensitive and confidential issues.
  • Flexible and proactive in workload management.
