Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Paediatric Outpatient Department at Broomfield Hospital to provide an effective and efficient reception service. We are looking for a hard-working and forward-thinking individual who is capable of prioritising workloads to ensure a smooth day-to-day running of the reception area.

You will be required to have a flexible attitude to work. The ideal candidate will have previous reception or administrative experience in a fast-paced environment and will be able to demonstrate an ability to prioritise their workload whilst remaining calm and professional.

Main duties of the job
  1. To provide an efficient reception and administrative service in Paediatric Outpatients Department
  2. Opening of the reception area in the morning and ensuring a safe environment for patients.
  3. Using the Lorenzo system to book patients into clinic and record their clinic outcomes.
  4. To pick up any missing outcomes from the day before and add them to Lorenzo.
  5. Deal with emails from the Multidisciplinary Team and action any requests.
  6. Preparing clinic lists and forms for upcoming patients.
  7. Providing information on clinic operations to families.
  8. Preparing temporary case notes for nursing staff.
  9. Concluding clinic sessions by documenting patient outcomes and adhering to the checkout process.
  10. Transferring request forms promptly to relevant departments.
  11. Handling all patient-related administration duties, including follow-up bookings and recording outcomes.
  12. Closing the reception area at the end of the day, securing confidential information, and tidying the waiting area.
