Job summary

Pier House in Charlestown, near St Austell, invites a friendly receptionist to join our warm, close-knit team. This part-time role focuses on greeting guests, managing check-in/out, and ensuring every guest feels valued from the moment they arrive.

You’ll work in a coastal setting with sea views, seafood dining, and comfortable rooms; the role offers flexible hours, staff discounts, meal provision during shifts, and opportunities to progress with in-house training.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and manage check-in/check-out
• Answer guest inquiries and assist with needs
• Keep front-of-house areas clean and welcoming
• Collaborate with team to ensure guest satisfaction

Job description

The Pier House overlooks Charlestown’s historic Georgian harbour, complete with iconic Tall Ships. The sea-facing restaurant, bar, and hotel-style rooms provide a warm welcome with the crackle of a log fire during cold months and plenty of cosy nooks to sink into. Outside, the sunny terrace is an idyllic spot for al fresco dining, taking full advantage of the impressive surroundings. You’ll be working in a picture-postcard location that’s graced the big screen across the world, with its iconic Tall Ships serving as a backdrop to blockbuster movies and TV shows alike.
