Main duties of the job
To undertake a wide range ofreception duties and provide comprehensive support to the multidisciplinaryteam.
The post holder will act as acentral point of contact for patients and external agencies, ensuring theeffective processing of correspondence, appointment management, electronicworkflows (including Footfall and SYSTMOne), telephone enquiries, and generaladministrative functions.
The role includes greeting anddirecting patients, managing incoming and outgoing communications, accuratelycoding and processing clinical information, and supporting the smoothday-to-day running of the practice.
The Receptionist will liaise withclinicians, administrative colleagues, secondary care providers, and communityservices to ensure high standards of patient care and operational efficiency.

Job responsibilities

1. Reception Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in aprofessional, courteous, and confidential manner
- Direct patients to appropriate servicesor clinicians
- Manage appointment bookings in line withpractice protocols
- Effectively utilise Footfall andSYSTMOne appointment systems
- Respond appropriately to patientenquiries at front desk
2. Telephone Duties
- Answer incoming calls promptly andcourteously
- Manage the admin/referral line
- Make outgoing calls to patients andhealthcare professionals
- Accurately document telephonecommunications
- Redirect calls or elevate issues wherenecessary
- Respond to general enquiries
4. Tasks and Workflow Management
- Monitor and action reception tasks daily
- Communicate clearly with relevant teammembers

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- GCSE Mathematics and English (Grade C/4 or above)
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
