Job summary

Pinhoe View Hospital, part of Elysium Healthcare, is seeking a Receptionist to greet visitors, manage calls, and provide essential administrative support across services. You will help ensure a professional, friendly experience while maintaining compliance with policies and safeguarding service users.

Shift patterns include weekdays 7:00am–3:00pm or 12:00pm–8:00pm, plus 1 in 3 weekends 9:00am–5:00pm. Requires GCSE English and MS Office proficiency; a DBS check is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience using office software (emails, calendars, Word and Excel).
  • GCSE English grade C or above or equivalent (Essential).

Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for staff and visitors at reception.
  • Answer inbound calls promptly and professionally; transfer calls or take messages.
  • Ensure visitors sign in and are issued passes for health & safety.
  • Ensure visitors sign out when leaving site.
  • Manage keys and alarms; complete key management paperwork for regulatory purposes.
  • Ensure contraband item list is read and signed by visitors.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
  • Prioritize duties and manage stress effectively.

Join Pinhoe View as a Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our hospital and provide vital administrative support across our services. As our Receptionist, you will play an essential role in creating a professional, friendly and supportive experience for everyone who visits the hospital. You'll ensure all visitors are greeted politely, directed appropriately, and that the relevant staff are informed of their arrival promptly and efficiently. Alongside this, you'll provide administration support to managers, colleagues and service users-helping to keep our hospital running smoothly while ensuring compliance with organisational policies, procedures and best practice. Shift pattern hours - weekdays: 7:00am - 3:00pm or 12:00midday - 8:00pm and 1 in 3 weekends: 9:00am - 5:00pm. As the Receptionist, you will be:

  • To be the first point of contact for staff and visitors at reception, answering inbound calls promptly and professionally. Transferring calls to the relevant staff or taking messages, passing these along to the relevant staff in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ensuring that all visitors sign in to meet the requirements of health & safety and are provided with visitors passes so they can be identified as visitors to the hospital.
  • Ensuring that visitors leaving site have signed out so that hospital staff are aware they are no longer on site.
  • Ensure that all keys and alarms are allocated and signed out to staff and signed back in at the end of shift/visit. Ensuring that the key management paperwork is accurately completed so that key management can be evidenced for regulatory purposes.
  • Ensure all visitors to the Hospital read and sign the contraband item list.
  • Complete radio response checks daily to ensure that compliance with radios are adhered to. The ability to always display professional conduct.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to always maintain confidentiality.
  • Accuracy, efficiency, timeliness, and diligence are displayed in the accomplishment of all assigned duties with a minimum of direct supervision.
  • Ability to prioritise duties and responsibilities.
  • Experience using office software (emails, calendars, word and excel) (Essential)
  • GCSE certificate, Grade C or above in English, or equivalent (Essential).
