Job summary

CVS Vets in Bracknell are seeking a friendly Veterinary Receptionist to join Bracken Veterinary Practice. This permanent 16-hour role offers a busy, client-facing environment with daily bookings, payments and insurance handling.

You will work with a small team across reception, veterinary staff and nurses, providing a warm welcome to clients and compassionate support during busy days. A background in veterinary reception and strong MS Office skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Receptionist is a must; experience in a veterinary setting is a bonus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle emotional situations with grace.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with database systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage Communication: Handle incoming calls and schedule appointments efficiently
• Inquiries Resolution: Respond to queries via phone, email, and in-person interactions with professionalism
• Client Reception: Greet and register new clients, ensuring a warm welcome
• Insurance Management: Process and manage insurance forms adeptly
• Medication Distribution: Dispense medications as required
• Financial Transactions: Process payments accurately and efficiently
• Emotional Support: Provide empathy and understanding to clients during distressing times, while maintaining professionalism
• System Utilisation: Organise patients using the in-house system efficiently
• Inter-practice Communication: Liaise with veterinary practices to address patient needs and queries
• Debt and Refund Management: Make necessary phone calls regarding debts, belongings, and refunds
• Client Care: Above all, ensure that every client feels welcomed and valued at our practice

Are you ready to put pets first? At CVS Vets, we make pets a priority every day!

We're on the lookout for a dynamic and passionate animal enthusiast to step into the role of a Veterinary Receptionist at our Bracken Veterinary Practice.

Location: Bracken Vets

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 16hrs

Shift Pattern: 3 days per week these being pre-determined and to work 1 in 4 Saturdays 8am to 1pm. Rota'd with one nurse, one vet and a PCA.

Discover Our Practice:

Based in Bracknell within walking distance of the town centre and with good transport links, we are a busy first opinion practice with a large team, offering routine appointments and surgery, x-rays' ultrasounds, dentistry and more.

With 7 vets, 4 nurses, 2 PCA's, 5 receptionists and our Practice Manager, there is no shortage of friendly faces within Bracken.
