Job summary

Step Teachers Ltd is recruiting for a Reception Teacher at a thriving primary school in the United Kingdom. The role is full-time, long-term with a December 2026 start and requires QTS and EYFS experience to support the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

You will plan and deliver engaging activities, monitor progress, foster relationships with children and parents, and work with the EYFS team to promote safeguarding, inclusion, and high standards of learning and wellbeing.

Duties as a Reception Teacher:

• Plan and deliver engaging learning experiences in line with the EYFS Framework
• Create a stimulating and nurturing classroom environment
• Support children's academic, social, emotional, and physical development
• Observe, assess, and monitor pupil progress
• Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
• Promote independence, curiosity, and a love of learning
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, wellbeing, and achievement
• Work collaboratively with the wider Early Years team

Ideal Reception Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching within EYFS or Reception
• Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework
• Excellent knowledge of child development and early learning
• Ability to create engaging and inclusive learning opportunities
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
