A school in Edgware is seeking a creative, nurturing, and enthusiastic Reception Teacher to join a dedicated Early Years team. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape children’s first experience of school, laying the foundations for a lifetime of learning.

The successful candidate will bring warmth, passion, and a deep understanding of early childhood development, delivering a high-quality EYFS curriculum that supports every child to flourish. The position begins in September 2025.

Duties as a Reception Year Teacher:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, child-centred learning in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
  • Foster a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that supports all areas of development.
  • Carry out regular observations and assessments to inform teaching and maintain accurate learning journals.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues to support learning and wellbeing.
  • Promote the school’s values and ensure high expectations for behaviour and progress.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff to create a consistent and collaborative early years provision.
Ideal Reception Year Teacher:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework and principles of child development.
  • A creative, flexible, and caring approach to teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience teaching in Early Years or Reception.
