Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. seeks a Reception Teaching Assistant for a 2-form entry primary school in Leyland/Chorley. The role is long-term from October with a September start, supporting the EYFS team and helping youngest learners develop foundational skills.

You will contribute to phonics-led activities, observations, and assessments, while ensuring a safe, inclusive environment and strong links with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in EYFS or Nursery setting.
• Solid understanding of the EYFS framework.
• Patient, creative, and energetic approach to learning.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• Legal right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support the Class Teacher in delivering the EYFS curriculum.
• Lead small group activities focusing on Phonics, early literacy, and numeracy.
• Make observations and contribute to student profiles/assessments.
• Provide a safe, engaging, inclusive learning environment through indoor/outdoor play.
• Support pupils with diverse needs to help every child thrive.
