The NHS is seeking a part-time Reception Supervisor to lead the reception team in a reputable GP practice in Nottingham. This role involves ensuring compliance, motivating staff, and providing exceptional patient care. Candidates should have experience in a general practice and strong supervisory skills.
We are looking for a part time Reception Supervisor with experience working in a General Practice and experience of using the clinical system Sytmone.
The Reception Supervisor will supervise the reception team and offer general assistance to the Practice team, be responsible for the day to day supervision of reception and ensuring that the correct procedures and protocols are being followed, reporting to the Practice Manager and/or Deputy Practice Manager as necessary.
You will act as a role model to the reception team, supporting, motivating and promoting staff relations, as well as undertaking a variety of administrative duties and answering calls to assist in the smooth running of the practice.
You will lead our Reception team and ensure the smooth running of reception.
You will assist in ensuring the practice is compliant, implement policies and protocols and liaise with the clinical and administrative teams to provide excellent patient care and experience.

We are a CQC rated outstanding practice spread across two sites and covering 16,000 patients. We are a very research- active practice.
We are a friendly team of 8 partners and 5 salaried GPs with a large primary care team of 1 practice manager and one systems and research manager, 1 office site manager, reception, administrative and secretarial teams, large nursing team including practice nurses, psychiatric nurse, pharmacy team, physiotherapist, social prescriber, care coordinator, and phlebotomist.
We are a training practice having registrars and medical students in all stages of their training. We actively encourage all our staff to develop professionally.

Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of reception and associated functions ensuring they are carried out in accordance with agreed procedures, protocols and time-scales, reporting to the Management team as necessary.
To supervise the reception team and support the receptionists
To offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
To facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary healthcare team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.
Act as a role model to the reception team, supporting, motivating and promoting staff relations
To undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice
Ensure adequate staffing levels: organise Holiday/Sick rotas in line with agreed policy liaising with Practice Manager.
Continually assess and evaluate systems recommending changes and improvements to the Practice Manager as appropriate
Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures
Process prescriptions as required and according to Practice protocols
Ensure all new reception staff receive induction training
Assist with problems which may lead to complaints
Participate in audit where appropriate
Apply practice policies, standards and guidance
Oversee the alteration/cancellation of surgeries and make alternative arrangements in an emergency
Oversee the repeat prescribing process and ensure the safe keeping and correct distribution of prescriptions
Ensure the registration and path lab links procedure is kept up-to-date and understood by all the reception team
Oversee and delegate daily tasks
Have a full understanding of appointment system
