Job summary

Ministry of Justice invites applications for an administrative role within the Probation Service Directorate at HMPPS. You will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers and perform a range of office-based tasks in line with service policies.

Hybrid working is available where business needs allow. Standard full-time hours are 37 per week, with potential for unsocial hours and a focus on safeguarding, security, and efficient administrative support.

Qualifications

• Must have proven proficiency in ICT skills across the full range of Microsoft Office applications.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in criminal justice or high pressure environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Be first point of contact for Probation Service and greet visitors professionally, logging arrivals and departures.
• Handle mail, PPE orders, stationery, room bookings and event registrations.
• Support case administration with confidential and high-level administrative tasks.
• Assist in maintaining Health and Safety and security, including acting as key holder and Fire Warden/First Aider when needed.
