Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Receiving & Release Inspector to join our Logistics team, where you’ll support the inspection and certification of aerospace parts and assemblies, ensuring they meet the highest quality and regulatory standards. This role will be based at our Bishops Cleeve site.

As a Receiving & Release Inspector, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring that all incoming and outgoing products meet design, customer and regulatory requirements. You’ll carry out a wide range of inspections on aerospace parts and assemblies, using precision measuring equipment and inspection techniques to verify conformance against drawings, specifications and purchase orders.
You’ll review certification and documentation, including First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102), and ensure all quality standards are met before products are accepted or released. Working closely with Supplier Quality, Supply Chain and Engineering teams, you’ll support the resolution of product issues and contribute to maintaining high standards across the supply chain. You’ll also be responsible for completing certification documentation, such as Certificates of Conformance and UK Form 1, and maintaining accurate records in line with company procedures.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring experience working in a quality inspection environment, ideally within aerospace or a similarly regulated industry. You’ll be confident interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, with hands‑on experience using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment, including CMM or similar systems.
You’ll have a strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work, with the ability to make sound decisions on product acceptance or rejection. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll work closely with internal teams and suppliers to resolve issues and maintain quality standards. An engineering qualification such as ONC/HNC or equivalent experience would be advantageous, along with knowledge of AS9102 and inspection best practices.
