Job summary

Ontic Engineering & Manufacturing Limited is seeking a Receiving & Release Inspector for our Bishops Cleeve site. You will inspect aerospace parts, review certificates, and ensure conformance to drawings, specifications and purchase orders.

The role involves working with internal teams to resolve issues and maintain top quality standards. The ideal candidate has aerospace quality inspection experience, ability to interpret drawings, and familiarity with AS9102 and CMM or similar tools.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality inspection in aerospace or regulated industry.
• Able to interpret drawings and use precision measuring tools, including CMM.
• Attention to detail with sound decisions on acceptance/rejection.
• Strong communication with internal teams and suppliers to resolve issues.
• Engineering qualification such as ONC/HNC and knowledge of AS9102.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all incoming and outgoing products meet design, customer, and regulatory requirements.
• Carry out inspections on aerospace parts and assemblies using precision measuring equipment to verify conformance.
• Review certification and documentation, including AS9102, ensuring standards are met before acceptance or release.
• Work with Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering to resolve issues and maintain quality.
• Complete certification documents such as Certificates of Conformance and UK Form1.

Receiving & Release Inspector – Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, is recruiting for a Receiving & Release Inspector to join our Logistics team. The role will be based at our Bishops Cleeve site and involves supporting the inspection and certification of aerospace parts and assemblies, ensuring they meet the highest quality and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Play a critical role in ensuring all incoming and outgoing products meet design, customer, and regulatory requirements.
• Carry out a wide range of inspections on aerospace parts and assemblies using precision measuring equipment and inspection techniques to verify conformance against drawings, specifications, and purchase orders.
• Review certification and documentation, including First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102), ensuring all quality standards are met before acceptance or release.
• Work closely with Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to support resolution of product issues and maintain high standards across the supply chain.
• Complete certification documentation such as Certificates of Conformance and UK Form1, and maintain accurate records in line with company procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a quality inspection environment, ideally within aerospace or a similarly regulated industry.
• Confidence interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, with hands‑on experience using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment, including CMM or similar systems.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work, with the ability to make sound decisions on product acceptance or rejection.
• Strong communication skills, able to work closely with internal teams and suppliers to resolve issues and maintain quality standards.
• Engineering qualification such as ONC/HNC or equivalent experience, along with knowledge of AS9102 and inspection best practices.
