Job summary

Saga is seeking a Transport Operations Coordinator to join our Transport Team in Crawley on a 6-month FTC. You will coordinate daily activities, plan journeys, and communicate with customers, drivers and third-party suppliers to ensure timely and accurate service.

The role involves a 38.5-hour week with a 12-hour shift pattern, 4 days on/off, and occasional after-hours duty with incentives. The ideal candidate will manage prioritised tasks in a fast-paced environment, balancing accuracy with

Qualifications

• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with a professional telephone manner.
• Ability to make quick, accurate decisions in time-sensitive situations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and comfortable handling data and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and administer master route planning data to support journey delivery.
• Assist Transport Planners and Team Leader to produce cost-effective journey plans.
• Manage operational changes, amendments, cancellations and customer requirements.
• Monitor flights, traffic and weather to adapt transport plans in real time.
• Communicate clearly with customers, drivers, and suppliers about pick-ups and arrangements.
• Produce journey documentation and reporting including times and mileages for budgeting.
• Handle inbound/outbound calls with focus on excellent service.
• Collaborate across the transport operation to meet deadlines and coordinate teams.
