Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking an FPGA Design Engineer to develop and verify FPGA logic for advanced EW and Future Combat Air systems. You will work on high-speed data interfaces and embedded processing, delivering deterministic, low-latency solutions within a hybrid environment based in the UK.

This role offers progression through technical depth, including potential move to Senior/Principal FPGA roles. You will join a team delivering mission-critical capabilities and benefit from a structured FPGA

Qualifications

• Exposure to digital systems, programmable logic, or hardware-proximate development.
• Awareness of high-speed interfaces and digital design concepts (Ethernet, PCIe, JESD, LVDS).
• Hands-on experience supporting system-level debug and test with electronics tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and verify FPGA logic for EW and FCA systems.
• Work on FPGA platforms with high-speed data movement and sensor interfaces.
• Deterministic, low-latency processing chains for real-time applications.
• Embedded processing using SoC devices and soft-core processors.
• Support delivery of FPGA solutions enabling signal processing, control and real-time data handling.
• Translate system requirements into robust FPGA architectures.
• Implement, simulate and verify designs using FPGA development methodologies.
• Assist with integration, bring-up and debugging of FPGA designs in labs.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems and software teams for integrated solutions.
• Participate in design and technical reviews and support activity across UK sites.
