Leonardo UK is seeking an FPGA Design Engineer to develop and verify FPGA logic for real-time EW and Future Combat Air systems. You will work on high-speed data interfaces, embedded processing, and deterministic processing chains within a hybrid-friendly environment at our UK sites.

Growth comes via deep technical delivery, structured training, and progression into Senior/Principal FPGA roles, with support for cross-site activity and a broad benefits package.

Formación

• HNC/HND or degree-level knowledge in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or similar.
• Experience in a structured engineering development lifecycle.
• Exposure to digital systems, programmable logic, or hardware-proximate development.
• Awareness of high-speed interfaces and digital design concepts (Ethernet, PCIe, JESD, LVDS).
• Hands-on experience supporting system-level debug and test using electronics tools.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop and verify FPGA logic for EW and FCA systems.
• Work on modern FPGA platforms with high-speed data movement and sensor interfaces.
• Implement deterministic, low-latency processing chains.
• Embedded processing using SoC devices and soft-core processors.
• Translate system requirements into robust FPGA architectures and implementations.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems and software teams to deliver integrated EW and FCA solutions.
• Participate in design and technical reviews and support activity across UK sites; contribute to FPGA Academy training.
