Marchant Recruitment represents a successful secondary school in Reading seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Officer to join its busy pastoral team. You will work hands-on to support safeguarding systems, maintain CPOMS records and coordinate referrals in partnership with the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Applicants should have previous safeguarding or child protection experience in an education setting, be calm under pressure, highly organized and comfortable handling sensitive information.

Qualifications

• Hands-on safeguarding role supporting systems and DSL
• Maintain CPOMS/safeguarding records
• Support referrals and case management
• Follow up actions and safeguarding chronologies
• Work with staff, families and external agencies
• Support safeguarding meetings and reviews
• Ensure safeguarding documentation remains accurate and compliant
• Previous safeguarding experience in education essential
• Calm under pressure, highly organised and confident dealing with sensitive situations
