Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is assisting a Guildford secondary school in recruiting a confident Safeguarding Officer to join the pastoral and safeguarding provision. You will work alongside the DSL and pastoral leaders to ensure safeguarding concerns are dealt with promptly and records are maintained to a high standard.

The role requires previous school safeguarding or child protection experience and a strong understanding of safeguarding practice, with excellent organisation and communication skills

Qualifications

• Previous school safeguarding experience essential.
• Experience working with DSL and pastoral teams.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding practices.

Responsibilities

• Respond to safeguarding concerns and referrals
• Maintain safeguarding records and chronologies
• Monitor actions and follow up outstanding concerns
• Support the DSL with child protection processes
• Liaise with parents, social care and other agencies
• Attend safeguarding meetings where required
• Provide guidance to staff on safeguarding procedures
