Job summary

Kenton School is seeking a Learning Support worker to enhance students’ reading fluency through targeted interventions. The role focuses on coordinating reading programs and delivering 1:1 and small-group support to pupils within our Newcastle-upon-Tyne academy.

Successful candidates will have experience with reading interventions, SEMH needs, and a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths. Full training is provided, and an apprenticeship route may be available.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating reading interventions or similar educational programs.
• Experience supporting students with SEMH needs.
• Previous experience in education with children, or level 2 English/Maths qualification.
• Apprenticeship option towards Teaching Assistant qualification could be available.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small-group reading interventions.
• Coordinate and monitor progress of students' reading fluency.
• Support safeguarding procedures and contribute to a positive learning environment.
