Job summary

Jesmond Park Academy is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to help students access a full curriculum. You will work with SENCO and other staff to support vulnerable students and develop 1:1 or small group interventions.

The role requires strong literacy and ICT skills, plus familiarity with SEN/EAL needs. The school values equality and inclusion and welcomes qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students through 1:1 work and small group interventions.
• Knowledge of professional standards for teaching assistants.
• High level of literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish constructive relationships with students and staff.
• Support SENCO, Assistant SENCO and HLTA in delivering school SEND offers.
• Assist students to access the full curriculum within classrooms.
• Communicate with teachers, SENCO and parents to support pupil progress.
