Job summary

Notley High School and Sixth Form, part of Bridge Academy Trust, is seeking a Skilled and Committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Reading) to cover maternity leave from January 2027, supporting pupils who need help to develop their reading skill and confidence.

The role involves delivering targeted reading intervention across the school, collaborating with the SENDCo and Whole School Reading lead, and joining a welcoming team to uphold the Enjoy · Enrich · Achieve · Aspire ethos.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or equivalent
• Experience delivering structured reading interventions
• Confident identifying gaps in pupils' reading ability
• Committed to inclusive practice and raising outcomes
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
• Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted reading intervention and support across the school
• Work closely with the SENDCo and the Assistant Headteacher for Whole School Reading to identify and support pupils with reading needs
• Receive full support from an experienced and welcoming team
• Contribute to the school's Enjoy · Enrich · Achieve · Aspire ethos
