Job summary

Notley High School and Sixth Form, part of Bridge Academy Trust, is seeking a skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Reading) to cover maternity leave from January 2027. The role focuses on targeted reading intervention to support pupils and is primarily based at Notley High School.

You will work with the SENDCo and the Assistant Headteacher for Whole School Reading, joining an experienced team committed to inclusive practice and safeguarding, within the school's broader ethos.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
• Experience delivering structured reading intervention programmes.
• Able to identify and address gaps in reading ability.
• Commitment to inclusive practice and raising outcomes.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted reading intervention and support across the school.

Inspectors found that adults areprecise in identifying pupils who need help with their reading, with clearsystems in place to identify and target pupils' specific reading needs, andthat leaders make sure staff are well trained to provide the right support.
We are seeking a skilled and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant(Reading) to cover maternity leave from January 2027, supporting pupils whoneed help to develop their reading skill and confidence.

Whilst this is a central role, it is primarily based atNotley High School.
