Job summary

Notley High School and Sixth Form, part of Bridge Academy Trust, is seeking a skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Reading) to cover maternity leave from January 2027. The role focuses on targeted reading intervention to support pupils and is primarily based at Notley High School.

You will work with the SENDCo and the Assistant Headteacher for Whole School Reading, joining an experienced team committed to inclusive practice and safeguarding, within the school's broader ethos.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
• Experience delivering structured reading intervention programmes.
• Able to identify and address gaps in reading ability.
• Commitment to inclusive practice and raising outcomes.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted reading intervention and support across the school.
• Work closely with the SENDCo and the Assistant Headteacher for Whole School Reading to identify and support pupils with reading needs.
• Full support from an experienced and welcoming team.
• Contribute to the school's ethos: Enjoy Enrich Achieve Aspire.
