Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned learning activities to individuals, groups, or whole classes in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Support planning and assessment of learning in line with the national curriculum.
  • Promote positive behaviour and a purposeful learning environment.
  • Support pupils with SEND, EAL, and varying ability levels.
  • Monitor, record and feedback on pupils' progress and achievements.
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt learning materials and approaches.
  • Provide pastoral support and contribute to pupils' social and emotional development.
  • Support classroom routines and contribute to the wider life of the school.
  • Uphold safeguarding, wellbeing, and health & safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering planned learning activities to individuals, small groups, or whole classes in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Supporting the planning and assessment of learning in line with the national curriculum.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a purposeful, engaging learning environment.
  • Supporting pupils with a range of needs, including SEND, EAL, and varying ability levels.
  • Monitoring, recording, and feeding back on pupils' progress and achievements.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers to adapt learning materials and approaches.
  • Providing pastoral support and contributing to pupils' social and emotional development.
  • Supporting classroom routines and contributing to the wider life of the school.
  • Upholding safeguarding, wellbeing, and health & safety standards at all times.
