Job summary

AMA Admin is seeking an Early Reading Intervention Assistant for a Teeside-based primary school. The role focuses on delivering Read Write Inc. phonics sessions and supporting Year 1 and Year 2 pupils to improve reading confidence.

You will run targeted catch-up sessions, track progress, and report to the phonics lead. This is a term-time position with either full-time or part-time hours, starting September 2026. Supportive team and nurturing environment offered.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Read Write Inc. phonics programmes.
• Strong understanding of early reading development and phonics instruction.
• Experience working with KS1 pupils in small groups or 1:1.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted catch-up sessions using the Read Write Inc. Phonics programme.
• Support Year 1 pupils at risk of not meeting the standard in the Phonics Screening Check.
• Work with Year 2 pupils who may need to resit the phonics assessment.
• Track and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and the phonics lead.
