Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Patient, approachable and encouraging manner.
• Ability to build positive relationships with young people.
• Confident providing practical and emotional support.
• Reliable, adaptable and committed.
• Experience in education, care, youth work or SEN (not essential).
• Driver's license would be an advantage.

Pastoral Mentor / Teaching Assistant – Wigston, Leicester

Luma Education Recruitment is working with a welcoming education setting in Wigston, Leicester, Leicestershire, that is seeking a caring and motivated Pastoral Mentor / Teaching Assistant to join its support team.

This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys working with children and young people and is passionate about helping pupils develop their confidence, emotional wellbeing, independence and engagement with education.

You will work closely with teachers and pastoral colleagues, providing a combination of learning and pastoral support throughout the school day. The role is focused on building positive relationships and helping pupils feel settled, supported and ready to learn.

• Are confident providing both practical and emotional support
• Communicate well with pupils and colleagues
• Are reliable, adaptable and committed
• Have experience in education, care, youth work, SEN or a similar environment – although this is not essential
• Are a car driver, which would be an advantage
• The right attitude and ability to connect with pupils are just as important as previous experience.
