Family Action is seeking a Service Manager for the Wigan Crisis Space to lead a community-based mental health service. The role focuses on safe, person-centred support for adults in distress and requires strong leadership, safeguarding expertise and collaboration with local partners.

Wigan Crisis Space provides a safe space for those experiencing mental and emotional distress and suicidal ideation. Forming part of the Greater Manchester VCSE crisis pathway, we are an out-of-hours, non-clinical alternative to A&E for adults to access timely, compassionate support from trained recovery workers – the service operates from 3pm to 10pm, 7 days a week.
We are now looking for a Service Manager to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week, including out-of-hours and weekend management cover, as well as support on a rota basis. You will work a minimum of two shifts per month during the week, from 2pm to 10pm (on site) and two shifts per month during the weekend, from 2pm to 10pm (on site).

As the Service Manager, you will lead the Wigan Crisis Space to deliver safe, effective and person-centred support for adults experiencing mental and emotional distress.
Working closely with people who use the service, community organisations and mental health and crisis pathway partners, you will strengthen integrated support and ensure the service responds to local needs.
