Job summary

About the role

We're recruiting experienced HLTAs for flexible support work at a community primary school in Walton on Thames. You'll provide specialist classroom support, lead small-group interventions, and contribute to the school's primary teaching provision, working with autonomy and expertise.

As an HLTA in primary education, you'll deliver high-quality classroom support focused on enabling pupils to make progress. You'll work flexibly across different year groups, leading interventions, supporting groups, and working alongside teachers to create effective learning environments.

Your role as an HLTA will include:

• Leading small-group and targeted interventions
• Specialist support for pupils with identified needs
• Classroom support across different year groups and key stages (Reception through Year 6)
• Following teacher planning and delivering pre-planned activities with autonomy
• Behaviour support and positive behaviour strategies
• Progress tracking and observation of pupil learning
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
• Contributing to the school's provision and team culture

You’ll work flexibly across the school, providing specialist support where needed. The work is genuinely varied. You might lead a phonics intervention group one day, support a pupil with communication needs the next, deliver small-group numeracy support, or work flexibly across different classes. You’ll use your professional judgement within your HLTA role and become a trusted, valued member of the team.
