Job summary

Teem Recruitment LTD is seeking a dependable, proactive and practical School Caretaker / Site Manager to provide short-term sickness cover at a busy school in Tyldesley. You will help maintain safety, cleanliness and smooth day-to-day operations for pupils, staff and visitors.

The role requires practical, organised individuals who can work independently, take pride in high standards across the site and respond promptly to issues while supporting the wider school team.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily upkeep, maintenance and security of the school site, including opening and locking up the premises.
• Carry out minor repairs, maintenance and general DIY duties.
• Ensure the school premises are maintained in a clean, safe and operational condition.
• Assist with setting up rooms and preparing the site for school events and activities.
• Support the school's health and safety and compliance procedures.
• Maintain awareness of fire safety, Legionella and asbestos procedures.
• Identify and report maintenance, health and safety or security concerns promptly.
• Monitor the condition of the school site and take appropriate action where required.
• Help ensure the premises and surrounding areas are maintained to a high standard.
• Respond proactively to issues that may affect the safety, security or smooth running of the school.
• Work positively with school staff, contractors and visitors as required.
