Job summary

Job description

North East Help Limited is looking for compassionate, reliable and motivated Support Workers to join our supported accommodation service for young people aged 16–18.

You will provide person-centred support to young people, helping them develop confidence, practical life skills and greater independence. You will build positive professional relationships, provide appropriate safeguarding oversight and support young people to achieve the goals identified within their individual support plans.

A key part of the role is the ability to understand, implement and contribute to risk assessments, support plans and safety plans. You will be expected to recognise changes in circumstances or risk, respond appropriately to emerging safeguarding and welfare concerns, and ensure that support is delivered consistently in line with agreed plans and risk management measures.

You will work as part of a supportive team and liaise with Social Workers, Personal Advisers, education providers and other professionals. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, completing handovers and recording incidents or concerns appropriately.

This is a full-time role involving daytime shifts, weekends and sleep-in duties. Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence, have access to their own vehicle for work purposes and have worked in a similar support role within the last two years.

The successful applicant will be someone who is committed to supporting young people, understands safeguarding and risk management, can work independently and as part of a team, and can remain calm, professional and consistent when faced with challenging situations.
