Job summary

Baxterstorey is hiring a General Assistant to support dining services at multiple sites around Swindon and nearby areas. The role involves preparing and serving meals, barista duties, and ensuring food safety. Travel to Reading, Newbury and Basingstoke is paid and may be required.

The position is permanent, full-time, offering 32 hours per week from Monday to Thursday, with site-based work across Swindon and surrounding locations.

Qualifications

• Ideally experience in catering
• Barista experience is advantageous
• Good Health & Safety knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner per menus
• Barista duties as required

• Monitor inventory and report shortages or discrepancies
• Provide friendly service to students and staff during meals
• Participate in training on food service procedures and safety

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced General Assistant with a background in exceptional food catering services to join our business and work at one of our highly prestigious education settings.

Our role is mainly swindon but may require travel to Reading, Newbury and Basingstoke (travel paid)

Job Description

• Following proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
• Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies.
• Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during mealtimes, addressing any concerns or special dietary needs.
• Participate in training sessions and meeting related to food service procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
