Compass Disability Services (Compass Independent Living Team) is seeking dedicated Personal Care Assistants to support a young woman with complex needs in daily life. You will help with personal care, feeding, and accompany her to social activities while providing companionship and emotional support.

The role requires reliability, good communication, and the ability to work independently as part of a small team.

Qualifications

• Previous caregiving experience preferred but not essential.
• Experience with SEN is a plus but not required.
• Must be able to drive (wheelchair accessible vehicle).

We’re looking for some friendly and reliable Personal Care Assistants to support me in my daily life.

I am a 18 year old young woman, who is a full-time wheelchair user, with complex needs; I have a really rare genetic condition (Glutaric Aciduria Type 1), dystonia, unvoluntary movements, severe scoliosis, dislocated right hip, coeliac disease. I have good mental capacity and studying for A level. I am PEG fed (blends), but I do eat orally too. I am nonverbal. I use an AAC device to communicate with people around me, do my schoolwork and interact with the outside world. I enjoy the cinema, going bowling, playing boccia (paralympic sport), going to the theatre, meeting my friends out and about, watching TV and I love going shopping and watching/going to football matches.

I'm looking for some people who can help me maintain my independence and enjoy my favourite activities.

Main Duties:

• Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, toileting and dressing
• Peg tube feeding and oral feeding
• Accompanying me to social activities, and other outings.
• Providing emotional support and companionship

Personal Qualities and Attributes required:

• Previous experience in a caregiving role is preferred but not essential.
• Experience with SEN preferred but not essential
• Be able to drive (a wheelchair accessible vehicle)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, good sense of humour and a positive and fun attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable and punctual.

You must be able to prove the right to work in the UK. No sponsorships are available.

Hours:

Saturdays, Sundays, evenings and school holidays - start and finish times to be discussed (flexible) - Weekdays available from June 2026

Pay:

£17.48 per hour
