Job description

We are looking for a Personal Assistant to support a cheerful, easy-going young man who enjoys getting out and about and making the most of life. He has hypermobility, so while he enjoys walking, there may be occasions when he needs to use his wheelchair to remain comfortable and access activities.

He is a friendly and sociable individual who communicates his wishes clearly. He is deaf and non-verbal, and while he is currently learning Makaton and British Sign Language (BSL), knowledge of either would be highly beneficial in helping him develop his communication skills and independence.

Some of his favourite activities include enjoying a Costa coffee, people-watching, shopping, and spending time in the community. The successful applicant will support him to access these activities, build confidence, develop independence, and enjoy new experiences.

We are seeking someone who is patient, positive, and enthusiastic, with a genuine desire to make a difference. This is a rewarding opportunity to build a meaningful relationship with a wonderful young man and help enrich his life through companionship, encouragement, and support.

If you would like to get to know him, share in his interests, and play a part in bringing even more enjoyment and opportunities to his world, we would love to hear from you.
