Job summary

The Waggy Warehouse Ltd in South Shields is seeking a caring dog day-care assistant to supervise and support daily activities.

You will monitor dogs' health and wellbeing, follow owners' instructions, maintain records, and ensure safety and welfare across all play, walks, and routines.

Training will cover handling, enrichment, hygiene, and emergency procedures, with emphasis on teamwork and clear communication with clients.

• - Support colleagues with general day-to-day running of the facility.
• - Collect and return dogs safely to and from their homes.
• - Provide individual or group walks according to each dog's needs and agreed requirements.
• - Ensure dogs are supervised and kept safe throughout walks.
• - Use appropriate leads, harnesses, and other equipment correctly.
• - Provide exercise, stimulation, and positive interaction during walks.
• - Monitor dogs for changes in behaviour, health, or wellbeing and report any concerns.
